Women are objectified in fastasy games. Duh. So are men.
Thank you. Sex(iness) sells, either for men or women. Politics suck, just ignore those stupid blogs :P.

And this is caused by the fact that they also look like a complete slut on the male players viewscreen.
If women have problems with being objectified, why do all the women (in RL) that i met in-game have VERY sexy female characters? They might not expose their body like men playing females (ehm ... i do :P), most do however, but at least the ones that don't, choose big breasts, medium height, small nose/ears/mouth, slim ... etc.
People want objectified models, it triggers their fantasies at the very least, and who doesn't want to have their sex drive tickled ... all the time? Will leave that discussion and analysis to more experienced ... psychologists however.
Yes women are objectified in games..not just MMOs but all games. Now I wouldn't heve even commented if I hadn't read the "Awesome Quote" in Loading... but Heinlein? Really? Ok, Stranger in a Strange Land had a lot of sex, but it's focus was greatly otherwise. Where are the women in Rockeship Galileo? Space Cadet? Starship troopers? The book, not the asinine movie screw up of the book. Heinlein wrote about social change, he wrote about issues that mattered to the time and in many cases still do. His later books took on a socialist view, as he did, but pre-Cat who Walk Through Walls he wrote very compelling very moderate political views disguised as Science Fiction. He also made suggestions for technology that is just now being truly looked at, and is being found to not only be viable, but very useful and will probably save a lot of lives.
Ok, enough of this rant, have fun in your discussion!
Have been playing Aion lately and they allow you to design your toon as you want. What ever you can dream up you can do. Short and I mean real short, heads what ever you want. Portly sized slim, barbie, fat, athletic, petite, small you name it. You get to play with the size of all body parts along with colors galore. I am a male in real life but like to make my toons female. My wife walked by the other day and remarked that the toon I was playing looked like her when we first met. Startled I looked again and she was right, just about all my toons resembled her in a lot of ways. She giggled whispered in my ear and I logged off of the game for a while. She is my very best friend in the world and without thinking about it I made my toons look like her.
Women are objectified in fastasy games. Duh. So are men. I don't play fantasy games to see a cheeto stained shirt on a hairy beergutted football fan and I wouldn't expect to see the average looking female in game either. Heck, if I were as hot as my in-game characters, I might roam around in a chainmail bikini too.
I did notice in Aion though that my gladiator's armor only protects her groin and breasts. Clearly this is where men think our vital organs are.
