I did try playing this game. I enjoyed the different skill system (skill deck) however I think the game was mismanaged from the beginning and hence they brought this upon themselves. For example, from the start of the launch of the game in Europe the servers were segmented into various regions (within Europe). Hence all our European guild members couldn't play with another. IP restrictions were enforced and this turned everyone off. They realized their mistake too late sometime later, removed the IP restrictions and had to immediately merge servers to make up for the fragmented player base. On top of this, they game was very poorly marketed, as most people that weren't explicitly following the game's progress didn't know it had even been released for so long until the Acclaim (US) release. The US server populations seemed higher to us European players and our whole guild moved there instead. I was even tempted to subscribe for one month but ran into all sorts of payment issues (was even asked to buy Acclaim points or credits by their support for an amount greater than the monthly subscription!!). That was the point when I uninstalled the game and erased the downloaded client files from my PC. Keep in mind that although all the above is my own personal experience, several of our guild members had similar or other issues with the game. We were all excited about the game and were eager to play it, but all the above issues were just way too much. Imagine then how could they possibly capture and maintain the interest of people that didn't know about the game and were not as interested in it?
It's a real shame, as it seemed an interesting game (not great, but different).
*Goes back to waiting for the Aion CBT weekend*
*Disclaimer: Even though I'm not in Europe (from Kuwait), I've always played with European guilds and on those respective MMO servers, and never encountered any such issues due to this fact
