The gaming world has been buzzing with rumors about what the big announcement at FanFaire 2009 concerning Star Wars Galaxies was going to be this year. If the mini-sized SWG poster we received in our swag bags was to be any indication, the dead may soon start fighting among the living. It turned out not to have anything to do with zombies but it is big!
The news involves a new profession and the sweet sensation of player created content.

Zombies may be fun in games, but I don't think I'm the only person that can't remember ever reading anything about them in any Star Wars media. I can't imagine George Lucas would ever sign off on anything like that either. Fortunately for all parties involved, the poster we recieved was just a fun piece of artwork and nothing more.
Aww I was hoping "The Next Big Thing" was going to be SWG's reversal of the NGE and CU.
Ditto, this is lame...you gotta have players in order to make quests for them! rofl When there are only 2 running around out there...yeah that would get old fast!
They turned off the lights? That would be the next big thing....

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.

I have also read that the producer is leading a cross over horror content. Is that really true?
I found at a little while ago from the SWG team, that yes... there is going to be a horror/zombie storyline quest to coincide with a book that is being released this October.

That's what I was thinking. When there are so few players to begin with, who's going to design new quests, much less play them?
So with this NEW idea, the developers no longer have to create new content for the game. AWESOME. I'm looking forward to all the cool player generated content. [holds breath].....
