Eorzeapedia has
some speculation that FFXIV beta could begin in September.
Essentially, SE is hiring testers and Game Masters. The requirement for the testers is to be familiar with FFXI, so Eorzepedia asserts the new testers will take over in Vana'diel while the old core teams moves to FFXIV.
The GM positions seem to start in Sept.
IF they are for FFXIV, you don't need GMs without testers. At the very least, it may point to an internal test in 4th quarter 2009 transitioning into a closed beta in Q1 2010.
