LOTRO Wants Your Opinions!

The Lord of the Rings community team wants your thoughts on important in-game topics. The "Tell the Community Team" feature allows for the folks at LOTRO to know exactly what the playerbase, thinks, feels, and wants and is a great time for you to get your opinions known!

Here are the questions:

Which zone do you enjoy the most? Which do you enjoy the least? Why?

If you could choose one game system to revamp, what system would you choose?

Since its quite obvious that Turbine don't listen to a lick of what its players say, I'll respond here instead. Don't feel like logging in over there!

Question 1
Which zone do you enjoy the most? Which do you enjoy the least? Why?

• I liked Breeland cause it was much larger, more open and felt very alive than all the others, and most of all there were many different areas to explore, like a forest, ruins, swamp, open fields, a huge lake, desert-like waste area, mountainous, etc.
• My most hated zone was pretty much all of Moria, it was cramped to all hell and nothing felt very open, {which technically it shouldn't} but in a way as if I was on rails following a set path that always had way too many enemies, not properly spaced or thought out!

Questsion 2
If you could choose one game system to revamp, what system would you choose?

Screw only one game system to revamp!:

• Remove almost all solo and make the damn adventure group enforced, as it should be!
• XP Loss upon any type of death, and levels too!
• Remove PvMP entirely cause ts ruining the balance of PvE horribly!
• Homes need to be upgraded from the horrible "hook" function and allow us to turn and place our items wherever we please and many more than currently! Also add a ton more items to place in homes....especially large wall items....seriously how many bookcases does a homeowner need!!!

Question 3
What sort of "Fluff" activities(e.g. Tag, festival dances, etc) would you be interested in?

• More Chicken Play, or more animals to adventure as, and a ton more quests for it, and remove the limitations of only 50 chickens; is it, at a time!
• Add a bunch of year round activities and events that repeat within the homesteads and make it lively...its so dull and boring in there! Offer housing rewards that take awhile to earn which require groups of player participating to recieve points.

Overall its all about the community and grouping and doing things together in a fellowship.....stop changing everything to solo-only mode and be unique. Turbine you're only pissing players off by copying the WoW formule ever more!

Question 1
Which zone do you enjoy the most? Which do you enjoy the least? Why?

My favorite zone has to be between Lothlorien, Shire and Forechel. Reason I love the 3 is they capture something that I always feel special when I enter the zone. quest are fairly enjoyable just wish there where more in Lothlorien.

My most hated zone is Agmar just because most of the mobs are to grouped together. Makes Morias Mob grouping look way spread apart lol.

If you could choose one game system to revamp, what system would you choose?

I would say add more housing options.

Monsterplay just is just a plain waste of time. There should of been an option from the begining to play a Creep from the start of the game and level him up just like you would a Freep. Even though I understand what Turbine is doing by allowing the player to play along side the Fellowship of the ring in the Lord Of The Ring Stories.

Another thing that bothers me is some of the quest reward gear just looks terrible. When I get heavy armour boots they should look like heavy armour boots not some sort of slippers.

What sort of "Fluff" activities(e.g. Tag, festival dances, etc) would you be interested in?

I love all of it that Turbine has put in but, I would love to see more. Something has to be added to draw more attention of the playerbase to the festivals. I know sometimes I don't bother based upon the rewards.

Question 1
Which zone do you enjoy the most? Which do you enjoy the least? Why?
The Shire is my most favourite zone. I have leveled through that zone to 20 more than once. Evendim is really beautiful, but I hate questing there with a passion.
Angmar is the worst zone in the game. Dreary, depressing and bleh.

Questsion 2
If you could choose one game system to revamp, what system would you choose?
1a. Remove the stupid hooks system for Housing and go free-form. make the flawed, unused neighbourhoods more accessible from towns. Or better yet, make housing out of all those decoration houses scattered throughout middle earth. I cant tell you the number of times I wished I could have a hobbit hole on the brandywine shore.
1b. Get rid of bind on pickup/acquire and make everyting either bind on equip, or for instances and raids, bind on leave (bol).
1c. Get rid of the crafting sets... ie explorer forces you to be a tailor woodsman and miner. Its obvious that this setup isnt forcing people to rely on others for their crafting needs when we can make alts.
