Default Top Six Reasons to Play Runes of Magic

Why You Should Play Runes of Magic

When gamers first discovered Frogster’s Runes of Magic, it was too easy to dismiss the title as “another World of Warcraft clone.” Once beta began and people got a taste of the many features and design elements present in the world of Taborea, players understood that Frogster was on to something with its free-to-play title. As the game closes in on three months since the official launch and over one million registered users, Ten Ton Hammer takes a look at the top six reasons to play Runes of Magic:

In the ten weeks since it went live, Frogster has released at least four content updates and events.

Usually im a bit skittish when perusing 'REVIEWS' etc by TTH,for reasons I wont go into..But I will say this article had some valid/logical reasoning behind it...As a matter of fact,Im going to try this game out based on this article..I was on the fence before, and it sounds dumb, but it convinced me I have nothing to lose..

I was always looking for the strings attached angle from this game...Anyways,nice job RALSU....Gotta play something while waiting for AION and SWTOR....

Default Micro Transactions

I've been playing Runes of Magic for about 2 weeks now and must say it is definetly addictive. If you have played WoW before you'll be able to jump right in with the typical style and interface. But that is where the comparisions stop. They have some unique features like the Arcane Transmutor, which I've yet to get the fulll impact of, but basically it allows you to combine runes together to make them more powerful or all together different. Still more to learn about it. Also the mention of a mature and helpful player base is true as you can almost always find a group that is working on the same quests for those group bosses. However I did want to mention that the interesting aspect of the game that at first made me leery was the micro transactions in the game. Basically you can pay cash to purchase Diamonds from the website that allow you to purchase in-game items like mounts, housing elements or XP buffs to mention a few. So if you want to you can play the "free" play style and be able to adventure along with everyone else never making another investment or if you love the game alot you have the option to purchase in-game items to enhance your gaming.

Ralsu, do you even play this game?

please lets get honest with this game shall we?

Code:
Runes of Magic is free to download: MMOs typically cost $15-50 at retail depending on how long they have been on the market.
umm this is a F2p MMO. not a p2p. no f2p needs pay. but if you were pointing out that this a f2p then let that be.

Code:
Runes of Magic does not require subscription fees:
sure it doesnt have a "face" sub. but in order to do 90% of all endgame content, you need to Cash shop.

Code:
Frogster adds content and events frequently:
true statement, no argument.

Code:
Frogster knows what it is doing
lol. this statement itself tells me you never even played this game.
1- for the first 3 months (if not more) Frogster didnt even know that some of thier CASH SHOP items weren't working. fail much?
2- 2 weeks before release, they revamped the ALL of the combat system with untested revamp. they didnt even TELL the community or even test this before release.
3- Broken classes that have existed for 6 months

tell me again, are we playing the same game?

Something that should be pointed out is that Frogster is a publisher and has very little control over the actual game content. I'm still amazed at how hard they try to keep this a secret, its not bad being a publisher, but the game is developed by a Taiwanese company.

Here are just a few of the articles I have produced from my play experience. In particular, please note how I addressed problems with the game during my beta interview.

I do not for a moment think RoM is without problems, but the focus of this article was the top six reasons to play. I stand behind my reasons 100%.
