Bioware made a big announcement for Star Wars: The Old Republic at E3 2009. The announcement states that the game will be the first fully voiced MMOG to be developed. This is intended to add an immersive and cinematic feel to the game. No more straining your eyes to read that line of text. Now you can listen to fully voiced characters in the game. To accompany the good news, Bioware also released an awesome new exclusive trailer to Star Wars: The Old Republic that showed one heck of a battle between the Jedi and Sith armies, culminating in a large scale attack on the Republic.
I hope that subtitles are an option or that our quest journals keep up with important dialog for review later. I can't imagine many PUGs that are willing to sit while I listen to my NPCs give me a quest.

That's ok Ralsu, I don't know many that will sit and let you read it either. O.o

Holy F**K......well I think Bioware has won me over and reinstilled my love of Star Wars once again! I'm so being a Twilek Sith, or ultimately gonna join/play the Dark Side the most!
That video had to be the greatest lightsaber battle ever made! Can't wait to view what they've built for us to participate in; in-game!
How many wanna bet that Sony closes SWG within a few months of SW:TOR being released!? The few hundred or so still playing won't stick around and it will become completely vacant!
As far as PUGs or whatever sticking around to let you read or listen to quest info and such. As with any MMO; I have a macro set to inform groups that I read everything and considering I always play the primary healer, if you run off ahead and not wait for me, and you die...tough luck! To piss them off even more; if I'm the group lead and they continue to do so I'll kick them from the group usually after they engage mobs...hehe!
Looks like they are going out that it will be a massive sale, well i hope they can pull it off.
All i can tell is i miss voice acting in quests in games that don't have it.
On the flip side this does raises questions as, how many voice actors will there be? will there really be enough to offer plenty of variation and not backfire and kill the immersion if dude on planet A sounds exactly as dude on planet X?
How many quests will there actually be if they are all going to be voice covered?
And so on, but yep it all looks promissing and let's hope they can pull it off.
As for SWG dieing, it was a matter of time it was becoming outdated and lost a good chunk of it's player base over the years. It's the same case with AO where i will see they will lose a good chunk to Earthrise.
Quite epic guys. Quite epic. I know some of you are looking for a guild as we speak. Check out my sig here and give us a try. You won't be upset. When they ask who sent you, say Finn. I'll give a wink in your direction.
