Default Sins of a Solar Spymaster #12 - Proxy Wars: The Fall of ISS

After taking some time to recover from his Las Vegas drinkfest, the Mittani recollects another politically infused EVE Online tale of treachery in this week's edition of Sins of a Solar Spymaster. Enjoy this story, because there's plenty more where that came from just waiting in the brain of our resident master of intrigue. It's definitely worth the read!

Quote:
It wasn't supposed to end this way. Count Ta'Sessine and Serenity Steele had envisioned a new form of business in EVE, a venture capital group devoted to populating the deserted tracts of 0.0 with outposts, the ferociously expensive player-created stations which, in late 2005, no single alliance had the capital or werewithhal to build. Created as a neutral entity that would be above politics, the Interstellar Starbase Syndicate (ISS) was the darling of New Eden's investor class. Each new outpost they created was a separate corporate entity providing dividends to its investors, and there seemed to be a bottomless desire for ISS shares.

Steamrolling ISS was fun, and it seems like it all happened with relevant ease back then, in comparison to the the major POS grind's we've been dealing with lately.

We had a lot of crap going going on behind the scene's then(as we do now) that the average fleet guy(myself) isn't always aware of.

Our allies, core fleet members, special user groups, and GIA society have proven repeatedly that we can form an attack on many different levels. It's always been 'too much' for our enemies to contend with, in one way or the other. We always manage to disolve them.

This was a good read, and even though I participated in much of the fight with ISS, I've got a better understanding of how it all came together now.
