Ads are no problem, just use an ad blocker. It even blocks video ads when I'm watching shows online. Its like getting premium access to every site. MySpace looks much better without ads as well. Faster load times on every site.

the nc-17 rating has the same effect on movies (no mainstream distribution), but they can just release censored versions. i LIKE M rated games, i like the concept of games for older kids, and the more use of "the word" in a game the more i feel like it was made for gamers like me.

there are several adult mmorpgs if you look globally, most revolve around nudity more than anything else unfortunately. i dont think it will affect the games sales at all personally (direct2drive sells several M rated games), i would hope the big joke that AoC was rated M would have burned all the kiddies so bad that they will never trust an M rated game to be anything but garbage.
