A new viral campaign touting Cheyenne Mountain properties (including Stargate Words) as products in a multi-level marketing (MLM) scheme to raise $50 million has been making its round on the Internet, and Loading... tries to separate fact from fiction in the vacuum of official comment from CME. If mmoguls.com is legit, what will this mean for MMO gaming?
This, plus six new Ten Ton Hammer articles including part 2 of our 2009 predictions, a Lunia preview, a new comic, two new WoW guides, and much more awaits you in Loading... Stargate Worlds as MLM?

A Platinum member is $250 with $50 monthly subscription that gives you full access to STARGATE WORLDS and 6 other 3D online games from a Motor Racing Game (where you get to choose the car of your choice, and if you win the twice monthly tournaments, you also win the real version of the car.) To American Football Game [sic] (like Madden NFL) and other new 3D Fantasy Worlds, 15 Future Games & a 3D Social Networking site with Shopping Mall.
Are they on crack? I wouldn't pay that for all access to NCSoft, SOE, EA, and Turbine. That's insane! Who has time to play all those games anyway? I imagine that if I ever had hopes of placing first in that twice monthly tournament, I'd have to spend a ludicrous amount of time playing. And what cars are we racing? A 1981 Citation?

I dunno what to say. Hopefully CME will say something regarding this interesting bit of news.
If it is true, this doesn't bode well for SGW and I can foresee it getting shelved until someone comes along to give more solid backing. It doesn't produce buyer confidence to see a professional company flounder so badly.
If it is not true, then CME needs to step up and set the record straight!
If it's true then this is a serious act of desperation. If CME doesn't say anything then it probably is true unfortunately, they could just be testing the hair brained idea to see if the community will go along with it. If most of the response is negative then by not responding they get plausible deniability.
It's too late for CME maybe they have been assimilated.

I'm not sure which is more stupider (yes, I think that is a word!), the people who thought this was a good idea to put out there, or the people who would be suckers enough to buy in.
A while back when us moderators began to see this spam. We decided it'd be best to add "m m o guls"(no spaces) to the word filter. As far as we know, it's a scam/spam/whatever you want to call it site. Since then adding it to the word filter here, the spammers haven't been back.
However, if you find an evader, don't be afraid to click that little report button
What I don't get about this thread (the one I just linked) is all the Hater-Aid these people are drinking toward TTH. You'd think they thought that TTH was single handedly trying to bring SGW down. And for what? What would TTH gain from destroying the reputation of CME? Do they somehow have such a full schedule that they need one less game to cover? It's all pretty laughable.
Ethec reported strange posts and marketing efforts from people trying to look connected to CME. I didn't feel that his article was biased against CME.
I would like to retract this statement, It was uninformative and not really appropriate. I would like to apologise to all concerned and ask that any quotes of this error of judgement be removed also.

3. If you think that TTH, which is basically a press organisation, has no interest in recklessly publishing scandals to get ratings then you are an idiot.
Clearly you're upset by something, but I still haven't quite put a finger on what it is exactly. Resorting to name calling tends to negate a lot of the other intelligent things you've had to say in this thread and elsewhere though unfortunately.
If the main issue comes down to CME in particular potentially being perceived as being cast in a negative light, I honestly doubt that's ever been anyone's intention. Reporting on something and clearly labeling it as a rumor is exactly that - bringing light to a rumor to see if any truth can ultimately be found.
In this particular case, that's exactly how things turned out, so no harm, no foul. It's just unfortunate that in the meantime it's easier to assume that TTH has some kind of ulterior motives.
