Default WAR: Tier 3 Scenario: Tor Anroc

We continue our Scenario Guides with a look at the Tier 3 Scenario: Tor Anroc. Tor Anroc is one of the most popular Scenarios in the game. Players love the straight forward King of The Hill approach to the Scenario. If you have played Mourkain Temple in Tier 2, the basic strategy will feel familiar to you. The one thing that sets this Scenario apart from Mourkain Temple… LAVA!

Unfortunately, this is one of two scenarios that I have found so far (Mourkain Temple being the other) that Destruction somehow has a distance advantage in getting to the Bauble. I think it could probably be fixed by figuring out what the distance/time issue is (seems to be about 3 seconds in this one) and moving back the horizon players are allowed to venture out before getting popped back to the spawn point. Also, despite the love of lava launching, I do not believe you get personal credit for kills for putting someone in the Lava. If someone is at full health, then cool, get em out of the mix for 30-45 seconds, but it is always annoying when you finally have that Witch Elf at 10% and an Iron Breaker comes and launches em... grrr. Hehe.. Overall a very fun scenario that rarely lasts the full 15 minutes, unlike most others in the tier except for Blackfire.

I have found in Tor Anroc that Destruction has about a 2 second advantage over Order getting to the Bauble if ran perfectly. In the Temple is Isha Order has about a 7 second advantage getting to the flag. True the Bauble is easier to grab than the flag. The sides are not perfectly apart from each other thats for sure.

So you know, its not that Destruction can move further ahead before the start of the game, its just the angles you can run in a straighter line getting to the Bauble.

Default First to the bauble

Alot of people complain that Destruction always gets there first. This isn't becuase they are closer.

Becuase there are no mounts allowed, it makes Marauders/White Lions especially useful. In addition to "Flee" they also have a second speed burst ability called "Charge". Thats a total of 17 seconds at +5o% run speed, 7% more than any other class. Combine with a standard, and it ensures that they always arrive there first.

The unfortunate part is, there are fewer White Lions that Marauders, and fewer White Lion players understand that they can do this.

It happens, on occassion, that in fact I as a marauder, suprisingly come face to with a White Lion who knows what he's doing. In which case it comes down to who ran a cleaner line on the way there.

I think I disagree that Destruction is not closer. I have run there many times with White Lions in front of me, I get to the pillars or rock below the hill, the White Lion is cresting it as the message for taking the bauble goes off. It is not always a Marauder (when it is, I am usually just to the base of the hill). I will often run up to see a Black Orc standing there with the bauble glaring at me with those stupid beady eyes. With a 27 and 28 toon, I have run this scenario and know my pathing to get there fastest, but I have never beat dest there, not by at least two seconds.
