I do not understand why these companies make "free" FPS MMO's where people can gain an advantage using the cash shop. A player can choose to not use the cash shop, but then they cannot get the 1337 gear or have some limitation on using said gear.

Players who want an even playing field where skill and luck are the deciding factor for victory can buy any of the FPS's with multiplayer (Call of Duty series, Counter-Strike, Battlefield series, Unreal Tournament series, etc.) These games are not free but players do not have to pay for the multiplayer part or superior weapons and armor. These games also have better graphics than the "free" FPS MMO's.

I am off to play Unreal Tournament 2004.

To be fair, the Combat Arms developers have gone to great lengths to try and make sure anything you can buy with real cash has an equivalent you can earn with in-game GP. Most of their cash items are cosmetic more than anything else.

I also just discovered this morning that you can pick up weapons off fallen enemies in the game, so if somebody just spent a billion dollars (yeah, right) on a shiny new weapon and they die, if you're fast enough, you can run over and pick it up, then use it (default is to hit the "E" key"). I thought that was kind of neat.

As far as paying for games, it's the old adage of, "You get what you pay for". For those that are low on funds and still want to get their MMOG fix though, we're here to try to sort through the riff raff to find some decent games for you. I hope you appreciate my sacrifice, LOL
