I'm a big fan of Halloween events in MMOs - it's the one time of year that the temptation to renew lapsed subs is at it's highest, silly as that may be. One of my favorites is still Guild Wars though, and it has the added bonus of not having to worry about sub fees just to enjoy the event period. I have the masks / hats from each year so far, and even have one alt as a dedicated storage space for all the "ghost-in-a-box" and absinthe I horde for no particular reason. Then again, I do tend to collect giant piles of useless but fun things like that in just about every MMO I play.
The EQ2 event is a really great one too though. More games need haunted houses I think.
In no way is this a flame. And I read the Epic thread of the day. But what qualifies an epic thread? There were 2 replies.
Sometimes it's not so much a matter of how many responses a thread has as it is the content or awesomeness of the original post. You can have an 'epic' topic that people might have otherwise missed, just as easily as you can have an average topic that for whatever bizarre reason ends up turning into a 10+ page thread. With some of the longer threads in particular, it tends to be the discussion itself that's worthy of being called 'epic', though once they get long enough they usually get derailed oodles of times only to eventually devolve into lolcats and anecdotes about Tom Jones.
No problem! And like one of my cats always says, there's no harm in asking! Well, unless I'm asleep and you're waking me up to ask if you can cough up a hairball on my pillow ...
This years EQ2 Halloween quests were fantastic! I agree 100% Sardu, the haunted house with the vampires was fun and the cloak reward was Dead Sexy!!
Nothing ever has touched the raven reward from the EQ2 Halloween event. I can remember being alone in my house in game at 3AM and the zombie popping on my scream and scaring the crap out of me. I used to park 5 of them near my front door. Good times...

Give a poor Gnome a heart attack walking in your house!
But your right, that reward is awesome! But if you don't have the cloak from the loping plains house you should get it, it's smooth! And the mirror for your house is cool too!
