I like the new look of the Pulse much better than it's previous incarnation. Not that the old version was bad at all mind you, but I could never tell what the little graph was supposed to be showing me.
As for Fallout 3, it's definitely a beautiful game, and thankfully all the npc's don't all look like they were dropped on their face at birth like they do in Oblivion. The character customization does have some minor issues that carried over though unfortunately, like moving one slider will move the last 6 that took you 5 minutes to get where you wanted them, completely throwing everything out of whack so you have to start over. That, plus not being able to see the top of your character's head to see what the hairstyles actually look like on them both kind of bugged me, but again, they're just minor annoyances that ultimately don't effect gameplay at all. Oh, and I can't help but ask - what's with Bethesda and females with mustaches?
Otherwise the game is pretty enjoyable from what I've played of it so far. I'm not quite sold on it being 'game of the year' material just yet, but then again I'm not all too far into it either. All told it feels like another game that might as well have been an MMO, and feels oddly empty because it's
not.
