Default Exclusive WAR Interview - Paul Barnett Explores Players Behind the Races

When Mythic Entertainment's Paul Barnett starts talking, people don't let him stop. If he's not divulging key pieces of upcoming Warhammer Online content, he's spouting hilarious quips about pie, movie stars, and drinking beer. So when the Ten Ton Hammer staff had an opportunity to chat with Paul, we merely sat back and listened as Warhammer Online's creative director indulged us with commentary on hidden gags and the players behind each of the races.

Quote:
"I have to give a hearty "Well done!" to people that play Dwarfs," Paul said. "I have a very simple theory about the people that play Dwarfs. Dwarfs are generally played by people who have come to terms with who they are. Most of the people I've met who like Dwarfs basically look like Dwarfs. Where as people that play Witch Elves don't look like Witch Elves. There's more of a reality mask with the Dwarfs. These folks go "I'm short. I'm bearded. I like beer. I think I'm going to be a Dwarf."

I can't wait for Festival of the Pie. All those cake lovers beware.

Just proves the point I've been stressing for years, pie is better than cake.

I have to admit there's a few times that I have laughed out loud at some things in the starter areas, like the orc that sends you to tell the goblin he wants to eat him...funny stuff. And yes the dwarves that pop out of barrels or yell get me out of here if you wander by one of the wiggling jumping barrels.

I am earnestly searching with all my alts (I have 6 characters...we can have ten...yup yup.) for all things interesting and hard to find. So far I have spent alot of time in the Inevitable City. Found quite a few quests, and I always kill the nurgles in the barrels. :P

Speaking of Nurgles, in Fleshrot Alley...at certain times, those plague pots become clickable.

Go on and click one...you know you want to. :P I did...rofl.

Just be ready to run like heck. There are other things I have discovered as well in the Capitol, haven't played Order side at all, so no clue what awaits Order players with large curiosity like I have.

Just want to state as I have many times over the past few weeks, that those players who are in a rush to hit level cap, and sit in the scenarios day after day...week after week, are not getting their money's worth. They are touching the tip of the iceburg with this game, and really need to get out and breathe the Warhammer air....really they do.

Don't tell me you're bored. If you are...its because you have limited yourself...with your activities.

Get out of that hamster wheel (scenario) and go explore and experience the world for gosh sakes.

Cend

Currently playing: Witchelf (main) magus, squigherder, zealot, shaman, sorceress.

So, I'm just wondering about this since I haven't really found any forums for it, but since it's at least somewhat related, I'll ask: This Red Alert 3 that's coming out will give you a special helmet in WAR? Do you have to buy the premier edition of Red Alert 3 to get the helmet or not? If you have any idea, send me an email at crankyankee8@aol.com please, ty...
