Dungeons and Dragons Online Exclusive Module 8 Walkthrough
The current MMO market is a ruthless place. Games seem to come and go almost every day, and if you don't succeed right away, most companies don't get a second chance. However, some games like EVE Online, Anarchy Online, and Dungeons and Dragons Online persisted and continue to strive towards making their games better and better with each subsequent update. Dungeons and Dragons Online in particular has made a number of popular advancements, and Ten Ton Hammer's Greg "Darkgolem" Stanley received an official tour of the latest of Turbine's offering, Module 8: Prisoners of Prophecy. The amount of versatility for these hirelings is amazing. I can pick up my hireling’s soul stone, carry it to a resurrection shrine, order them to resurrect, and so on. What is more, let us say I come to complex area, such as “The Pit”, and my follower doesn’t follow me properly. Rather than lose the follower, I can order the follower to follow me, and since they can’t reach me, they teleport to my position.
And here I was thinking to myself: "Maybe they will actually turn out a really cool mod with lots of cool stuff". But no, just another mediocre update that consists of things that should naturally be included in an update of such(oh yeah, don't forget those hirelings). So, this game still remains doomed. I wonder if the dev's will ever loose that ever so imbecilic idea that they musn't stray to far from the original DnD rule set. Honestly, if they wouldn't be so damned persistent about the whole "keep it as much like pnp as possible" idea, it might be a great game by now.
I expected to see crafting when I heard the term crafting, but it's just enhancements to items. Or, if you count the greensteel failure as well, then it's just "ridiculous-combination-of-crap-that-you-find-to-"craft"-a-weapon/accessory-=in=which-you-are-given-some-paths-to-take-the-item-and-eventually-overpowerthe#$%^outofit-due-to-a-#$%^loadofgrinding". Yeah, that's the honest truth. The dev's weren't creative enough to introduce true crafting, so they gave the beggars extremely overpowered items(that you had to "craft" of course).
I have yet to see the dev's make a step in the correct direction to give this game some glory.
And this game had(and still has) so much potential.
Kromize..who the hell is that..Im one of the founding members..and have never come across that name..Oh well..doesnt matter..been playin for almost three years and still here..either im lame or this game is very good. And always look forward to new updates. Kudos to turbine..DDO Forever..
I wanted to let you know. Module 8 is officially coming to DDO US on Wednesday. Expect about 2 weeks delay for DDO EU, while it's ported and translated.
Trials will be active, according to developers. They're active now in DDO EU, where I play. See you in game!
Someone with an over inflated sense of importance? Did I guess right? Do I win a prize!? Man, what kind of an ego do you need to even say something like that.
I played DDO from beta, got my cleric to level 10 when that was the cap, and yes, got bored and quit. Now, more than 2 years later I come back and I find a full featured game that is really fun and involving. DDO is a great game for min/maxers and casual players alike. Best of all it doesn't require you to sit through gruelling 4 hour long raids where you have to wait to gather 40 people all in one spot, wait for loot decisions, wait for everything. DDO is great for a person that likes MMO type games but can no longer afford to ignore work, family, community obligations. Its easy to jump in and out of groups, even raids. Typical raid only takes 30 minutes, less if the group has a competent leader, and competent listeners following the strategy. My one huge complaint right now is they really need to address the lag issue.
So while some people, you know who they are apparently, I don't... think its crap, I, and many others apparently are really enjoying the refreshing new content in DDO. Looking forward to logging in a sometime this week to see the new dungeon content.
