Runes of Magic aims to be more than the average free-to-play game. Developer Frogster Interactive is putting a lot of effort into this title, and it is already showing. Runes of Magic won Ten Ton Hammer's Best Free-to-Play award at the 2008 Leipzig Games Convention Developer's Conference and consistently ranks in the Top Ten Free-to-Play Games.
Ten Ton Hammer will be getting fifty readers access the Runes of Magic Closed Beta by sending their official Runes of Magic account name and registered email to Frogster Interactive for beta invitations.
I'm receiving the same message as Shreder on the beta page. After registering on the Runes of Magic site, I followed the link in the original post / contest page: --http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/43147--. This link appears to return an error message. Possibly an incorrect url or maybe the destination page hasn't been completed yet?
The previous link is the destination from the text "Premium Members,
click here to add your name to the list for access to the Runes of Magic Closed Beta while supplies last!" located on the contest page.
Update: Looks like I spoke too soon, the link has been updated and the destination page is all set now
sweet, I have been waiting to give this one a try for awhile now. if this game manages to bring the quality they seem to be going for, wow could have a strong competitor in this game. Good to have an mmo that is heavy on content while light on the wallet.
So all the keys will FIRST be given away to Premium Members, and if any left over, (like there will be), will be randomly given away to the non Premium members? That's what its looking like now. This is not a contest.... I don't know why you guys call them contests. A contest is played with skill, like baseball, football, etc... This is a sweepstakes, a chance to win a prize.....
"Premium Advantage
Current Ten Ton Hammer Premium Members in good standing will get beta slots in the order entered while supplies last.
Registered users will receive one chance to win with their entry. It is possible that only Premium Members will win. Want to get 100 chances to win? Consider becoming a Premium Member. "
How is there a chance to win anything, unless YOU are a Premium Member, because it says you "WILL" get a key while supplies last. As many Premium Members as you guys have, there will not be any left for the non paying members. I am sure you have more than 100 Premium members. Then to tell everyone, Pay to become a Premium Member, so you can possibly, mabey. hopefully, get a Beta Key for the game, is probably illegal.
Ever seen the phrase "No Purchase Necessary" to win. Trying to coerce Premium Membership onto people, in the hopes they win a beta key, is just plain wrong. Everyone should have an equal chance, it's not like Premium members don't have enough benefits as it is.
