The Swordmaster Class Guide

I always welcome a tank class that has a little flavor, and the Swordmaster fits this bill!

Breaking away from the "hold 'em and hit 'em" way of gameplay typical of tanks, the Swordmaster brings in the unique ability of the blade dance. Leave it to the elves to make something as vile as killing into a beautiful and powerful magic!

I played the Swordmaster for most of the open beta time I had and I really liked the class. I only got to level 9 with him but his damage seemed higher then what he/she is being credited for in this guide. I played a Chaos Marauder to level 8 and his damage compared the Swordmaster looked almost equal. I expected much more dps out of the Marauder 8(

After thoroughly enjoying my RvR experiences with my Lev 50 Armsman in DAOC, I decided to follow the same mold in Warhammer and I made a Swordmaster. (That and the fact that there is no Thief class ) I did beta with a SM, as well as messing around with the Marauder, and Witch Hunter as well as a Bright Wizard. When release came, I took a Swordmaster as my main, with alts of Witch Hunter, Bright Wizard. I like the class, but really wish that they could use pole arms. Yes I know, this isn't Daoc and White Lions use poles.

After watching my damage for some time, I must say that while I'm happy with my PvE damage, my RvR damage is a bit low! Well more then a bit... But anyway my complaint here won't alter anything. I'm having fun with my SM, in PvE he can do what I need him to do, he can best a Champion Mob as long as it's at least 2 lev's below my SM's level. And he can take on any 2 mob's at once provided they are not both equal level to my SM.

I'm really looking forward to large scale battles, keep sieges and the big honkin melee's that are sure to come! I think I'm going to enjoy playing my Swordmaster, provided they don't fire up the Nerf Cannon

I concur Val. It's odd the class balance in RvR. There are some tanks that do sick amounts of damage while the SM stays pretty tame. I'm sure as the reports on class balance go rolling in to Mythic, they will work on all those little tweaks.
