Wrath of the Lich King - Ajzol'Nerub Video Run Through
The Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK) Beta now has many of the instances open and available for players to adventure in. Azjol'Nerub is the third level-up instance in the expansion and is located along the north-western edge of the zone of Dragonblight. This instance is a part of what once was the empire of the spider-like Nerubians.
Wow. One of the first things I noticed, is that it looks like a warrior with taunt and intervene MIGHT be good in that particular instance. Which is cool....since warriors seem to have so LITTLE to do anymore. w00t! Great vid, btw! That's going to be a very helpful preview!
I considered including the interface, however it adds so much clutter I am not sure it is worth it.
What are everyone's thoughts? Between threat bars, focus frames, dmg meters, and everything else I run I am used to looking at about 1/3 of the screen. Would your really want to see all that?
As for loot, the same thing almost applies. It is easy enough to search for loot drops and see the entire loot table. Is one item from a possible 5-10 really worth seeing?
Not sure on either, I just ran with my person preference, if others feel strongly about it the other way, let me know, I can change it up. This and the next 2 videos coming were done as an experiment to see if A) I could do them and B) how they are received. If they are popular, I will likely continue creating them.

You need all those mods just to tnak, Messiah? I can't deny it, I've lost a little respecxt for you
I loved the vid. I think it's great how they'll be instances we can brun through in 30 minutes. Who knows, maybe I'll be able to run one before work one day
You know what, I probably don't, It's just a matter of habit at this point.
The one thing I do really rely on though is a threat meter, and while Blizzard now has one built in, its not that great yet.
All it shows so far is flashing messages that you are high on threat, or losing threat, or gaining threat. When someone is nearing your threat level their portrat flashes yellow, then orange, then red when they have taken agro. This just isn't enough for me, I like to know where players are. If I have lots of threat room, I slow down my abilities to conserve mana, if they are all very close, I speed up and may even burn through a mana pot so I can get a bit ahead (if mana is the issue).
For those reasons I really like seeing those friendly omen threat bars.

You can also capture in-game video using an online application such as Screenjelly (screenjelly.com), which will have a minimal impact on your game's performance. For a slightly more advanced capturing program, there's also screentoaster (screentoaster.com, it's by the same company), which will let you download your recording as a .mov or .flv and edit it.
