Space...the final frontier. Are you prepared to make your own voyage as a member of Starfleet? You'd better be, because the developers at Cryptic Studios are making every Trekkie's dream a reality with the creation of Star Trek Online. With their recent informative webcast on the entire event, Cryptic Studios has certainly made a splash in the MMOG marketplace. Not only that, they've released an official gameplay trailer that Ten Ton Hammer has hosted for our readers to view! In the footage, you'll see a whole variety of gameplay, including land combat and space combat! Here's hoping that the game takes flight in the very near future!

All I can say is wow. It looks like Cryptic is really putting the effort into this IP that it deserves.

The trailer and game play looks awesome. It will be a 1 player ship model but it sounds like they are really going to make it so you evolve with your rank.

It also sounds like Klingons and Starfleet are no longer going to be friends. It's also going to be interesting to watch them flesh out the star trek history from 2379 to 2409 during the whole development cycle.

If cryptic delivers what they are talking about I think this game is going to be awesome!

It is looking good. I'm pretty psyched about this one, too. I mean, c'mon! Majel Barrett Roddenberry sent my son a gift when he was born. (I met her when I was pregnant with him.) I'm not a Star Trek guru by any means, but I'm definitely a fan.

The Defiant certainly had a nasty bite but I'm stuck on the Sovereign class ship. Always liked once they came into play after the Enterprise-D bit it. I did however loath the look of the Galaxy class ships. The beige bridge look just never did it for me.

As for the trailer. It's a good hook.
