Inside the Realm War with Mythic Entertainment's Scott Stricklin

If you have visited Mythic Entertainment's Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning website recently you might have noticed a tab called "Realm War." What does it mean? Descriptions such as providing "information on the tide of war with the state of objectives," give a little insight into what it's all about but we decided to go to the source. Mythic's Web Development Lead Scott Stricklin shared with us not only their plan for Realm War, but what features it will provide.

Ten Ton Hammer: Will there be a way for characters to view what equipment other players have?

Scott Stricklin: It is going to show character information, stats, and equipment. Our original concept is just to make all of that available and once we get passed launch we'll consider what kind of options we want to give people for display. On top of that the leaderboards are obviously open to everybody. We want people who are distinguishing themselves to sort of have their name in lights. They've achieved something and for the moment, they are and this shows everyone who are the real movers and shakers.

All I hope is that the version us Europeans get provided by GOA is as exhaustive as the yankies version

Of everything about WAR, the website features that GOA provide is one of my big worries (based on past experience with DAoK).

We were actually joking about this last night. Leaving work early because your realm was on the verge of losing something.

And Xenrik I'm assuming you'll have the identical app for the European servers. It wouldn't make sense to create two different ones.

Why is it about having your name and rank posted seems to light some internal competitive flame that can only be extinguished by exhausting your fuel (or rather, by playing until you literally fall asleep on your keyboard)?

Ive not been THAT bad but ive had my times.

I played Myth of Soma for a good 5 hours one night from 12am - 5am. Was a bit of a twist as i woke up with drool on my keyboard, such a ladylike thing to do.

This is gonna be a cool feat, gonna have to get free long distance on my cell phone and everyone # in my guild. So, when i am at work and things start droping i can call poeple and start asking WTF is going on. I still have 7 hrs of work to go hold it together

I already planned on dominating. I didnt need any incentive, but Im glad that this feature will let others know Im owning them.
