In the recent Portfolio.com interview, John Riccitiello of Electronic Arts, "may" have spilled the beans on the new Bioware MMO being published by EA as Knights of the Old Republic.
Quote:
We've got two of the most compelling MMOs in the industry in development," said Riccitiello. The first title, based on the Warhammer property, will launch soon. "And the one that people are dying for us to talk to them about -- in partnership with Lucas, coming out of BioWare, which is, I think, quite possibly the most anticipated game, full stop, for the industry at the point when we get closer to telling you about it."
Does Riccitiello mean the oft rumored Knights of the Old Republic Online? "Yes," he said.
Holy macaroni! No other real information, but boy howdy, I'm in! Can Bioware transition to a successful MMO with KOTOR? My guess is heck yes.
Even though the rumors of this have been floating around for a long time now, I'm really surprised they let this slip with so little fanfare. Either way I still want to see BioWare make a Mass Effect MMO!
I wonder if this means we'll get to see something from the game at one of the other shows this summer? I thought the KotOR games were brilliant, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how they approach the same setting only on a vastly larger scale. In the meantime I'm also looking forward to seeing more of what Dragon Age is all about.
