We were all shocked last week by the sudden closing of Flagship Studios, the holders of the Hellgate: London and Mythos IPs. Almost immediately as rumors of layoffs started to fly, HanbitSoft, the Korean manager of burst onto the scene claiming Flagship was defunct, and that they were the new owners of both IPs before Flagship had even confirmed that it had laid anyone off.
Then, yesterday it was announced that while Flagship Studios may have laid all of their employees off, the executives were still at the company, working like madmen to make something good come about. Rumors are flying that this bare bones Flagship is going to try and release Mythos - it's upcoming game that was in late beta when everything went down. It will work if Mythos can pay the bills before it defaults.
But, as you can imagine, HanbitSoft is none too pleased with this. Surprised that Flagship didn't just curl up and die, they are now preparing a legal suit to wrest the IPs from Flagship, whether they default or not. They've also resorted to name calling.

HanbitSoft also stated, “Flagship not only lacked effort, but were only looking for personal gain. Firing all of the Flagship employees in order to protect the personal interests of its founding members only shows how selfish and irresponsible they are.”
Flagship Studios is an incorporated company. Hence if any problems occur within this company, it doesn’t affect the finances of any of Flagship Studios’ founders.
HanbitSoft said they are going to take legal proceedings as Flagship Studios is legally responsible for a serious breach of duty in not protecting their stockholder’s rights. The legal proceedings will be done against Flagship’s founders and management people for their intellectual property. HanbitSoft currently owns a 9.5% stake in Flagship Studios.
If that doesn't sound like "You're sooo immature. I'm gettind Dad!", I don't know what does.

Just launch Mythos for the love of all things fun!
It reminds me somewhat of GnH being so close to the finish line, only to pull out of the race. Not that I'm comparing the two games, but to put that much time, effort and money into the game, for it to never see the light of day...ugh!
I know you are, but what am I?
I know you are, but what am I?
I know you are, but what am I?
I know you are, but what am I?
I'm rubber, you're glue, what bounces off me, sticks to you!
I know you are, but what am I?
I know you are, but what am I?
I know you are, but what am I?
I know you are, but what am I?
............infinity!
Well atleast it's more fun then the EA takeover stories.
Game companies do really everything to get players, in this case they take on the role of childish player the most common type in the F2P world, marketing team atleast is doing their job right!
Well I was there for the end and I can tell you one thing those guys at FSS might be bad business men but they are true gamers thru and thru. It got pretty emotional during the last 10 minutes in the game world with the Dev's send personal messages to us all. I will miss Mythos very much and wonder what might have been if they only had a strong business leader at the helm instead. Course then that would have changed the whole dynamic of the thing towards greed anyway so I guess this outcome might have been the best afterall.
That makes me sad, following the statement from the Mythos website.
No more Satyr Gadgeteer for me

Now I'm no business major and I certainly don't claim to be. But... 9.5% seems just a tincy incy just a small the tiniest hair.... short of being able to claim anything. Am I wrong?
