Putting the "MO" in MMOG
I'm all about the developers stomping bot / gold farmer folks. In games as competitive as MMORPGs (keeping up with the Jones!) it really irks me when people cheat to get aheah.
Regarding the Blizzard case, this quote confuses me:
"first, that if a game is loaded into RAM, that can be considered an unauthorized copy of the game and as such a breach of copyright;
That seems a VERY dangerous statement, considering that every program loads into RAM to run.

That is how Slashdot interprets it, but in fact the courts stated that the RAM statement only pertains to people using the program in a manner that goes against the EULA. Load WoW into RAM to play normally...no issue. Load WoW into RAM in and skirt the EULA, then it is an issue.
