The rumor I heard is that it's actually going to be a DAoC prequel, taking place exactly 2 days before the original. True story!
Then again, I also heard that Mythic are dropping production on the game completely in favor of working on Lisa Frank: Online Adventures - a move that even EA wants to distance their name from ...
It just all seems so obvious now. The movie 'Jumpers' stars the guy who played Anakin Skywalker and who coincidentally is also a texture artist at Mythic Entertainment.

I thnk things are as they appear.DAOC is getting a complete restage called WAR.Original DAOC will try to continue to exist by introducing ORIGINS ruleset.The introduction of WAR...and other mmog intro's this fall will for all intents and purposed drive a steak into the barely beating heart of DAOC.
All of the Capital Cities will still be in the game. They're not taking them out.
It's just that only 2 will be able to be Sieged when the game launches and then they will make the others siege ready in patches after launch.
In addition:
I'm totally disappointed about the class removal, but at the same time if Mythic honestly couldn't get them to work I'm going to trust them.

There is a reason people have always called Combat Rogues "Warriors in Training" and it's because they are essentially the same class concept. They're melee dps with very direct combat moves "Sinister Strike" / "Heroic Strike" ?? Couldn't think of another word besides "Strike" ?
So I'm kind of getting that same feeling here.
Black Orc and Orc Choppa both looked crazy-cool to me, but at the same time, if the Orc Choppa was just gonna be another word for "DPS Black Orc" then why even bother? You already got 3 mastery lines where you could gear your Black Orc towards DPS.
They could swing me either way with this one really - I liked DAoC. So even if WAR turned out to be a lot like DAoC I'd be okay with it. Though I don't think that's the case.
hmm you can beat boomjacks logic, all the facts point to DAoC 2.
