From those screenshots it looks like there is WAY too much Bloom lighting. Common problem with many F2P MMOs from the East..

"We have the same graphics as every other F2P MMO released over here? Hmmm, that's a problem... I know how to fix it! MORE BLOOM! MORE!!! BLLOOOOMM!!!!"

How about you try something different then pseudo-Final Fantasy character models or cartoony anime stuff? Much better idea then just adding more bloom...

I said this on another forum regarding registration for this MMO, and now....I'm going to say it again.

I'll be da**ed if I'm giving passport or social security ID numbers to some website just to register to play a stupid game. I cannot BELIEVE for a minute that they think any halfway intelligent American would offer up that information on a silver platter to ANYONE much less a foreign game developer. Amazing.

As soon as I tried to register WITHOUT giving passport ID information, and realized it was NOT going to accept leaving that information out.....I wrote off this game.

They're going to have to make their registration a little less invasive before many North Americans will be willing to register.

I just made up a number and the box accepted it. I forgot about that and should have mentioned it in my writeup.

I'm soooo glad I found this thread again, as I need to retract my prior complaint....somewhat.

As Ralsu said, making up a number will work. Because I was so very interested in this game, I did go back and do that. After saying that I "wrote off" the game, I have to confess, I had to go back and try again.

I now have a lvl 30 magician, and I find that there is MUCH to like about Perfect World Malaysia-EN. Yes...the translations are still horrific, BUT the good news is, the North American release beta is in the works (keys are offered on numerous sites), and I'm VERY hopeful that the translation issue will become a NON-issue.

As far as f2p games, whether North American, Asian, or otherwise, I believe that Perfect World is far above and beyond the "norm." I've been quite impressed with it. Once they clear up some of the more obvious cultural issues, like the obscure registration process, even MORE obscure way of buying cards for micro payment transactions, and the messy English translations....this game may WELL become the premiere f2p in North America as WELL as in Asia.
