Will there be stealing in the game?

If so:
Will you be able to steal from other players
Will you be able to steal from NPC's
Will it be limited to certain areas
Will it be limited to only gold

If not will it be a random item from the inventory

I guess all in all, if stealing is in the game, how does the engine work.

There is no pickpocketing, there is some stealing as part of some quests but that is not what you are referring to.
