Our current plan is to have 8 character slots in total, covering all servers, but that may change during beta as we get feedback from our testers.
i belive 8 is pretty standard on mmo's now days,its way better than the two ive been playing with for the last 4 years lol,just my opinion but if you need more than 8 characters maybe another account is in order i dont have a problem with getting another account if it comes to that...and no im not loaded with cash but it is a business for them and we want the game to last a long time right ? just my humble opinion

To give a few counterexamples - WoW is 10 per server (hard to call anything standard when you start with the most successful example being different!), City of Heroes is complicated and goes up to 36 per server, EQ2 is 7 or 12 depending on subscription. FFXI gives you...one, and then starts billing extra. But "8 is pretty standard" is in no way accurate.

well your pretty vaige with coh and ffxi, eq2 is 7 not that far from 8,so your just nitpicking a statement that disagreed with you lol,but im not saying that all mmo's are the same at all,but on the whole 8 is close and if you need one character for every prof as in 12 for conan its a bit much to ask in my opinion thats all..take it with a grain of salt (hey why not 24 per account so we can have a male and female of each toon for 15 bucks lol) not to much to ask huh :duck:
Sure, I can be "vaige" if that's what you like. And 10, 12, and 36 are perfectly welcome to equal eight. Good for you. Google will tell you loads more if you're curious.
