1st time poster here at TenTon, been a long time browser, just never have had a reason to sign up on the forums. Nothing against the site, you guys do a wonderful service to gamers running this site. I prefer to keep to myself so to speak so I avoid signing up on forums.
Anyways, I had to make a reply to this interview. What I have read and seen of 38 Studios has me on the edge of my seat each time I find a new interview posted on the net. I think and hope that this team Curt Schilling has put together might be a dream come true for a life time gamer, such as myself. Just by his interveiws alone, I can tell this guy means business. I have to be honest, I didn't know who Curt was when I first heard about 38 Studios. I have never been a huge sports fan, especially when it comes to baseball. hehe, sorry... I know, I know. What american male doesn't know about baseball? I was born and raised in Louisville Kentucky and what little sports I got involved with was college basketball/football and horse racing.
I'm a huge fan of RA Salvatore's work in the Forgotten Realms and first heard of 38 Studios through his site. Every day since, I have been looking forward to every bit of information I could find on what 38 Studios is doing. To be honest, I had a small hope that possibly 38 Studios would be the company that brought a Forgotten Realms MMO to life. I know, impossible... but what if? I mean I know WoTC isn't that smart, and thier is rumors of a Forgotten Realms MMO possibly being made by BioWare, but one could hope right? Also there is a little fact that Mary Kirchoff is also a part of 38 Studios, lol... sorry, still dreaming, I know.
Anyhow, I for one look forward to seeing what 38 Studios puts together. I have the feeling it will be fantastic and if it is even half as good I think it will be, I'll be the first in line to get it. Thier is alot of good games out, thier has been alot of good games that have been built and ran thier course. The future of gaming is just now, In my opinion, starting to bloom. Speaking of experience from playing many of the MMO's that have been out, thier is LOTS of room for improvement. The ultimate MMO has not been built yet. EQ, EQ2, WoW, DAoC, LotRO all have had good qualities but neither has been THE ultimate MMO. These games are all great games, but being the gamer that I am, I want the best. What if 38 Studios, what if...
I apologize for the WoTC jab earlier in my post, it just saddens me to think of what that company could do or could have done with the Dungeon and Dragons, Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms franchise, it's a waste really.
