I understand where you see value coming from the mods/etc.
For me personally, though, I never purchase those Xbox downloads, hehe... so that would not apply in my case.
And while I am not argueing that console gaming is more fun, as I spend 90% of my time playing games on my PC, I still believe consoles are the more cost effective.
People now days could easily spend 4,000+ on a new PC... That is a huge amount of $10 downloads you would have to buy to make up the difference.
I just went and doubled checked the Min and requred Specs, and I actually fall short on my cpu for the Recomended (all other hardware meets or beats).
Even if I had a quad core Cpu and to beat all hardware specs I sill would not expect to be able to run this game on Max settings.
I hear all the time of Vid cards going out, etc.. Well the latest vid cards are the price of a console. I just think that the initial "hump" is far to great to overcome the value of a console.
Like I said I enjoy my PC more, but it I still believe consoles are more bang for the buck.
So far today, which was to be so joyous, has instead been a day of mourning... Something about the preinstallation, or the decryption, or the DirectX install, or Lord knows what, completely and randomly broke my Steam client completely. An hour after release, the game finished decrypting. Two hours after release, I determined definitively that the only way I was going to get Steam operating again at all, let alone Dragon Age, was to completely reinstall the client, losing all my games and all my saves (temporarily, of course) in the process. At this point, I'll be happy if I get the game running sometime today.

Unfortunately one of the issues present with D2D, Steam, etc. that I've heard about frequently...corrupt files that ruin that DL and sometimes everything else.
Until Digital is the only way to get games, which I doubt will ever happen anytime soon, I will always buy the physical box/disks/manual!
My super quick official review of the early beginning of the game (Magi origin)...
OMFG!
That is all
I have about two hours into the game now as a dwarf noble warrior and I second these sentiments! This game is absolutely freaking amazing so far and the combat rocks!!!!
Update: Damn I am bummed out. I got set up by my brother and exiled so when they threw me in prison, I was stripped of everything including my blood armor and all my CE bonus items WTH! Anybody else figure out how to get that stuff back???

Damn hitting bugs like mad now. Four times after a video sequence I go to a black screen and cannot escape. Locks my whole system up and I have to reboot. Just happened again when I arrived in Ostragar. People having all kinds of issues on the forums over at the social site for DA:O. This is getting depressing I swear...
