"Providing lots of option for your player...giving the opportunity for the player to play the game they like to play and the way they want to play it is the key." Jeff Hickman (roughly starting at minutes 15:21)
I completely agree with this statement especially when the options you can add ar not a matter of if you can do it, but you just not doing it. Developers should always want to provide as many options as they can for their players, especially when those options aren't detracting from their vision of the game. It is fair to say that many of the developers see Hyboria as a violent place where danger is at every step, and thus see a need for PvP to be as widespread as possible with regard to RP. There are, however, a sizeable amount of players who don't share that particular part of the vision but are buying in on all the rest.
If they (Funcom) are planning on 200k, 300k or more gamers joining this game at launch, they must surely know that within that number there will be enough people to fill up 1 RP PvE server in the NA and in EU.
Edit: To add to this, I'm very much confused by Jason's reply to the next to last question (around minute 26-27) in relation to Funcom's consistent "if we see enough demand" stance. It seems to me that if Funcom as a whole shared the sentiment he gave that they wouldn't be concerned about a given percentage of demand number and instead go ahead and add the servers because they know a good deal of people want them and that there will be others who aren't so forum vocal coming to their game who want that experience as well.
