Hurray for even more great screens!
As a rule I tend to only sign up for a game's beta if I have genuine interest in it and intend to give whatever constructive feedback I'm able. I know, that's crazy talk right? Isn't beta supposed to be a golden ticket to free game time with your only feedback being some witty commentary about how the game is doomed to fail because you're not seeing the release build? No, no it's not.
I think one of the things I'm most interested in is that from what I've heard so far, Jumpgate seems to be a much more active form of space combat vs. the somewhat passive experience found in a game like Eve.
Don't get me wrong, I think Eve is an incredibly solid game, but the pace of the game tends to drive me away weather it's a perceived thing vs. actual. Or, to put it in other terms it's kind of like going from a Blood Elf Hunter to trying to play a Tauran for the first time - the Tauran feels like it's moving in slow motion even if it's base movement speed is no different than anyone else. I can't remember exactly where I read it, but I like the comparison of JG:E being a quick Star Wars dogfight vs. Eve's more calculated Star Trek battles.
Comparisons aside though, as much as I'm looking forward to AoC I'm perhaps even more interested in some good space combat... unless there's secretly a sentient race who fly green ships called Orkslol, or exceptionally pointy-winged ships flown by the nature loving Eelveesuh Nation!
Oh, but back to my original point - yea, I already signed up for the beta.
