A couple of things worth noting about NetDevil though:
First is that they're one of the most experienced studios out there as far as MMOs are concerned.
Second is that they're the studio behind the upcoming Lego MMO. Given the massive success of the Lego Star Wars games, and their branching out to turn the concept into a franchise (as seen with the upcoming Indiana Jones and Batman games) I honestly doubt they'd hand over the MMO project to just anyone.
Of course neither of those things necessarily directly translate into Jumpgate being an amazing gaming experience, but I think they should be considered equally as much as the headline-grabbing closure of Auto Assault. In retrospect, a lot of people tend to agree that what they tried to achieve with AA was perhaps a bit too ambitious for what they had the resources to do at the time, something NetDevil has learned from at least if recent interviews are to be believed.
