In World of Warcraft you're given almost complete control of the entire interface. One of the things that can be enhance heavily over the default interface is the "unitframes" or the part of the interface that shows the status of you, your party, and your raid. X-Perl Unitframes does a fantastic job of overhauling the default Blizzard interface for your unitframes and stylizing them for performance, utility, and control. Well worth a download if you're looking for a little bit more than just health bars of your party.

Built on top of the Ace2 framework, X-Perl is a must have for anyone who wants more control over their unitframes or wants a more streamlined interface. Everything from a complete raid interface revamp to showing you not only your target's target, but the target of everyone in your group along with what their target is targeting.

I prefer X-Perl over pitbull mainly because of looks. It just appeals to me for some reason. Putbull is pretty much just bland, and X-Perl stands out. I have had absoloutly no problem out of x-perl in the last few months of using it. I highly reccomend this add-on to everyone if they either just want a diff unit frame or reworking their whole UI!
I never used pitbull but a guildie started using it, after 2 hours of tweaking and still not getting what he wanted I suggested x-perl. within 10 mins of installation he was ready to go. And the options are great, I am still finding new things that are useful in one way or another. And another important thing is that you can scale alll of those things, to give you more precious screenspace.
I've been really happy with X-Perl since I loaded it. I like the overall look of it, think the info displayed is terrific and is far easier to read than the Blizzard frames. About the only thing I wish I could do is drag raid frames around the screen without having to open the configuration window.
about a month and a half ago i swapped to pitbull. At first i thought it was bleh and went back to x-pearl but after some playing around i really like what i've done with it!
I tried Pitbull but it baffled me. Liked the idea and may need to play with it a little bit.
A good thing about X-Perl is that with multiple toons you set it for one and you can basically set it for all your toons - just start a new toon and load the settings of your favorite character - you might have to move your portrait and target frames a little but almost everything else will keep the same across all toons.
The only bad part about X-Perl is the experience bar and how it rounds off numbers - instead of seeing 43,950/55,650 you get 43K/55K and it can be annoying when you are almost at the cap for the level and think you have it when you don't.

well with pitbull you can copy another character's profile and use it as the profile for an alt
as for an XP bar i dont use the unitframes one when im leveling i use XPBarNone. It can be resized, change it's texture and font, set it to watch a factions reputation etc
I think X-Perl took like 30 minutes ...the lack of a real menu and a "guide" really hindered me. I have also tried ag_unitframes and had similar issues - just do not care for them.
I actually adjusted the xp bar from Bongos2 and it works just fine....if that's the flaws with X-Perl I'll take them.
