According to WarCry's Razorwire, the Fury team has been sending out e-mails to try to get people who tried the game once and then left to come back and give it another go. Trouble is, they do it by insulting them.
Chances are... you are a
LOSER!
Or will you prove us wrong? http://www.unleashthefury.com
In the 3 months since release, tens of thousands of people have played FURY and every single one of them has lost at least one game! That's right - not one unbeaten player exists in our database. And the stats show that once you have won 3 games, you are extremely likely to play dozens, if not hundreds more games.
So, we'd love you to come back and check out all the changes and improvements and discover that winning feeling.
For a start it is easier to stay alive now, and there are new game types specifically designed for new players. We have also added AI Bots (and they love losing), new gametypes, new maps, fixed the GUI lag and hundreds of bugs plus loads of other stuff. You can find out more about all the changes at http://www.unleashthefury.com/ageofthechosen
We have also introduced the Chosen which allows you to play FREE FOREVER. Why not show your friends you are not a loser as well by bringing them along, they can play for FREE! Just get them to follow the instructions found here http://www.unleashthefury.com/free2play
Cya in game (unless, of course, you want to remain a loser).
The FURY Team
To be brutally honest though I see this as just a continuation of the whole Titanic experience of the good ship MMORPG. Developers canceling titles even though millions were already spent on development... blockbuster titles that do everything right but garner only mediocre and disappointing numbers. Its a bad year to be a MMORPG developer I think.
I am sure that there will be those that are highly offended by this attempt to get folks to retry the game, but I am sure there will be jsut as many who will give it a second shot. Either way, even the small abmount of 'buzz' created by reports about the emails still reminds people that Fury is out there, and it may be enough to get others to check it out.
I find it rather amusing and if you read the entire mail you can see it's not a big deal and after reading the first 5 lines you see it's not really directed personally.
Well i'm downloading the game as we speak as i want to see if it really improved as i tested it during beta and pretty much the major lag peaks kept me out, pretty bad lag spikes to be honest.
Honestly the game concept isn't bad it caters to both casual and hardcore PvPers as it's pretty much FPS style drop in and go with some progression and it's free, so for something to kill time now and so why not.
Edit, Reply on Warcry,
I find the comment from Razor somewhat misplaced and Razor took it way to personal, everyone knows you don't take those things literal but nuance it.
The changes they made shows that they are improving the game, they added in mobs for starter peoples what was really needed and they said they got rid of the lag. Also i can't really follow on charging people money or even beter ripping people of as he implies, while it's available for free without any charges unless you really want to, should've traded in the subjectivity with some objectivity.
If developers let the ship sink they get kicked and if they try to safe it they get kicked.
