At CES 2008, Funcom developers Jørgen Tharaldsen and Jason Stone sought to prove that Age of Conan is on track for an impressive release by showing us three regions with resource-intensive NPC behavior enabled, netting framerates of a respectable 40 FPS on a typical gaming rig.
Have they lived up to the challenge? What do you think of the gaming environments and landscapes of Age of Conan?
HUZZAH! Let me tell you folks, these zones / graphics were AMAZING. Even with a majority of the NPCs visible to the camera, we ran with virtually no slow down the entire time. It's just a testament to the power of the upgraded graphics engine.
Just wait until you see The Maze. That portion of the content was jaw-dropping.
Ya know, I take it all back. Some of the screens up till late had me thinking "the graphics are respectable, but could be better." After seeing this vid, I'm hugely impressed. Way cool.

Nice video. I saw some hitching but I dunno if that was the game, or the video player (I'm thinking the latter though). Anyway, looks great from a technical standpoint, anyone jot down what kind of PC they were using?

I wasn't there, but usually the computer is well hidden from prying eyes, fingers and wiggling toes.

I'm betting it was the video player too. They would be insane to not use the most powerful pc they can get their hands on for these sneak peeks.
I would bet a four gig, dx10, dual 8800 gtx, extreme quad core myself. With a quantum singularity one billion watt psu of course.
