Good read! I was surprised to read about RG's comment on the beta having negatively influenced peoples' opinion of the game; I mean, I knew that it had, just surprised to hear an "official" even mentionning or admitting it. Pretty admirable, I gotta say.

Other than that, I love the RP touch the article has (AFS chiefs, for your eyes only), but I feel that the article is a bit short. The state of the game and technical changes are in, but it seems that a few things were left out:
- in-game events (Trick or Treat, Seasonal Holiday Observance, Days of Remembrance). Perhaps worth a mention or summary.
- technical issues (Mires lag, bugs, XP/credit balance, mission gaps leading to grinding). Doesn't need to be negative, perhaps talk about what has been done to alleviate these issues.
- upcoming changes and new content (PAUs, instances, skills, PvP modes).

I say this not so much as a criticism, but as a suggestion for any future "wrap-up" articles you may do, or perhaps also a new version of this article.

To be honest I was one of those people. Game was too broken for me to enjoy testing it. I tried it got to level 8 ran out of money for ammo, tried it again on another character didn't enjoy it.

After the launch friend of mine who had decided to pick up the game after being in beta sent me 3 day trial. And I was hooked. Improvements were astonishing from beta to live.

I think same day I read RG's comment on too many people in beta he logged onto Pegasus and I had a chance to let him know just how much better the game is in beta and I would be using up my invites soon, and I have. I need more of them now.

It's nice to see them admitting that they could have done things better. (unlike some companies *COUGH*SOE*COUGH* who content that everything with SWG is great, even though everyone i know quit playing after the NGE)

enjoyed the review. since being here back in June there has been many ups and downs but overall the game is turning out to be a real Hoot for me. I have actually discovered more and done more since launch and though some of it was similar to beta i have not been bored one bit, though sometimes I have been confused.

I am hoping the next year is full of new and inovative things and for the money compared to other things and mmo's out there my buck stays here. If one really takes the time to enjoy the game, rather than rushing to the end to see who's first, it is one heck of a build. Consider all it took to get it to where it is now. Take a moment to revel in the world this game has built around you and know that for us to do the things we are doing here took not only a lot of talent but a whole lot of time. It truly is awesome not only for this but for all games. We have come a long way since PONG and its wide open for anything these days. So to the folks at DG and NC despite the bumps and hiccupps..."Well done and please keep it up, I want to see the return to Earth some day."

Ah now in fairness... I had the pleasure of hearing in person John Smedley saying the they learned a lesson about communication with the NGE.
