Ten Ton Hammer Interviews the Developers Behind Upcoming MMOG Warrior Epic
Unlike many of its console brethren, the massively multiplayer online game comes in a huge variety of shapes, genres, and business models. Although originally built as long, perilous roleplaying games with slow combat systems and pay-by-month subscription rates, the MMOG market has gradually evolved to include a variety of play styles and business models. One of the newest models on the block is the free-to-play, quick adventuring MMOG, which is what our interviewee’s company is producing. With a game titled Warrior Epic, Possibility Space is busting unto the development scene and we sat down with their community manager, Brice Lucas, to find out more about this fast action, free-to-play MMOG. His answers were extensive, and if you have any interest in cheap, fun games this interview shouldn’t be missed!

In Warrior Epic, your role is to hire and build a team of warriors that you then use to explore the world and battle other players. There are two aspects to questing in our game. The primary Campaign Mode allows you to advance through the story of the Warrior Epic and grants you access to different realms, unlocks, etc. You may also go into Adventure Mode which consists of short side-quests that help you increase the strength of your warriors prior to embarking on a Campaign or PvP match.
The developers behind Warrior Epic are definitely unto something, but what do you think of this initial interview? What sort of questions do you have for the developers? Tell them everything!
This is Brice Lucas (The Cave Man from the Interview), feel free to post questions about our game, Possibility Space, or myself here. I will try my best to answer them as quickly as possible.
I understand the F2P concept and I for one think we will see it slowly trickle to the American and European Markets. "The Agency" would be an exaple of this. What kind of numbers do you have that would make a F2P game feasible? As in we would need this many people to play the game that would buy X Area and X weapon to cover our costs per month.
I see alot of new MMO's springing up that forget to put the Multi-player back into the game. What kind of guild tools will you add to the game to make is user friendly? Of course EQ2 would be the go to game for this considering they have the best guild system in place at the moment. How will it compare to EQ2's tools vrs WOW.
What kind of player base are you looking for? I read you wanted casual players but how will you get them? Will you advertise free betas like many Asian games and hope you keep a few or will you try a more innovative approach?
What type of combat system will you have for the game? Will it be like combat casting and watching your mana bars and stamina bars with cool downs or will you try something different?

Rocqu,
The combat system requires strategy and forethought prior to going on a quest. Warrior Epic is not a recharge game, which means you need to use your resources intelligently.
The central focus in Warrior Epic pertains to playing online with lots of friends. Whether it is cooperatively or in PvP, most of our players will be on teams.
Warrior Epic will appeal to everyone, not just casual gamers. Regardless of the amount of time you spend with it, you will leave happy. People want to play high quality games, so we are making an enjoyable, awesome game that will bring players in by the truckload. We are all gamers here, and we know what it takes to win the hearts of other gamers....a good game.
Thanks for the good questions Rocqu,
Have a Great Day
