Earlier we brought you information regarding expanded content, but now we're excited to reveal a discussion with Tabula Rasa Producer Starr Long regarding the upcoming Personal Armor Units.
Our very own Micajah does his best to describe these cool creations and even gets Long to elaborate on Flashpoints and Command Opportunities.
i particularly like the idea of your own npc squadmates....just did the devils den, had to solo it, but after you rescue the one commano in there he becomes really helpful....my bio abilities came in real handy keeping him up to snuff and he stayed with me the rest of the way and was actually helpful.
he kept the mobs occupied while i did what had to be done.
the PAU's look to be pretty good as well...looks like some real heavy combat coming at us further up the road..
i dunno about those npc squads..seems like it's gonna make the exobiologist worthless because that's the main thing that they can do is have pets(and fairly bugged pets at the moment).. if everyone else can have very nice pets with better controls at level 50 plus all their other skills..what's the point?
as far as the pau's..i hope the ghoul is for the exobiologist. it sounds sweet!
Anyway, they're definitely putting a lot of personality into each one, and I think each class were certainly have a fitting PAU. Let's hope the Guardian's is as good looking as the Spy's.
Sleek, black, and with an imposing stance, the Spectre would be an awe-inspiring sight on any battlefield. The Spectre seems like the epitome of the Personal Armor Unit; it didn't appear to be extremely large in the concept art and could be a more stealth oriented PAU. Moderately-sized spider-like limbs extended away from his back and hooked around the front of his body, producing a humanoid yet insect-like appearance for this particular PAU. Don't quote me on this, but I believe Paul and Starr said this PAU was specifically for the Spy.

The command opportunities scare me a little. From what little information we have about them it seems like they will add to everyone's ability to solo the game. Soloing is cool, but there needs to be a balance between soloing and group play.
Also, this is reminiscent of Guild Wars, where you could hire NPCs to replace people...

Hurrah for PAUs.
I don't think the npc's will be a problem, the GW's npc are so bad you pretty much need to take humans for the missions, after trying out my "Reinforcements" with Ranger I'm not all that impressed.
PAU's do sound very cool, I look forward to seeing them.

From my understanding these are only going to be for the end game people. It'll be easy to adjust content to whatever bonuses they provide, my concern is doing that you might be making this "required" gear to accomplish anything.
