Eye of the Storm -- sweet, overlooked dual blades power?

Eye of the Storm
Requires 3 powers from Dual Blades or 5 non energy building powers from any framework

Maintained Melee AoE Damage and Shield

Eye of the Storm uses your weapons to surround you in a whirling shield of cutting blades.
Maintain

* Deals continuous slashing damage to targets near you
* Generates energy if affected by Momentum
* Increases damage resistance
* Damage resistance increases over time maintained
* Damage dealt decreases over time maintained



At first glance, this power doesn't seem like much. However, it does have an advantage which adds a type of damage shield to the power -- if someone attacks while you're maintaining this power, they take extra damage from the advantage.


Combine eye of the storm with Energy Shield (WITH the laser knight advantage), and you end up with a block active, any time that you're using Eye of the Storm.




has anyone tested, or even tried this combo? I threw it onto my lvl 28 last night and it seems to work nicely. Haven't really done any testing on it, other than playing for about 10-15 minutes and using it heavily.

so... a little rank 3 regen and a block with an advantage that makes the block stronger, the longer you maintain... while your regen is constantly healing...


or, would using regen with the eye of the storm/nrg shield (laser knight advantage) be a better combination?

For dual blade, laser knight advantage is always the better option.
Regn as it is, would be enough.

If everything fails, take the rank upgrade as the last one.
That way you would pay a small fee to retcon the last bought advantage.
