So you've read all about what makes PvP in Champions Online different than in any other MMO you've played. Now for the fun stuff: tips to help us get a leg up on the competition!

We asked Champions Online PvP Designer James Laird and Producer Rob Overmeyer for some hints and strategies to help us get started on player vs. player pwnage, and they delivered in a big way... er, make that 10 big ways!

Click here to read 10 PvP Tips from the Champions Online devs (http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/71453), only at Champions Online @ Ten Ton Hammer!

Have PvP tips of your own? Feel free to share them in this thread!

I'm really looking forward to PVP in this game. While in every MMO you have to rewire your brain to play well in PVP, since PVP is so different from PVE in most cases; Champions PVE is very action oriented which will make PVP friendlier to those of us who only PVE'd in other MMOs.:Lust_by_Zikes:

It kind of sounds from the article that they know the PvP isnt balanced but they just dont care.

Holds/Rooting is too strong, but whatever.

People are exploting spawn locations, but whatever.

One of the things i get the feeling a lot of MMOs do (& which i absolutely hate) is purposefully leaving in unbalance/bugs just so that they have an excuse to keep changing the game and keep players busy changing their builds so they stand a chance.

I thought CO was actually going to try to make a fair PvP system that more casual players could enjoy too. Guess I was wrong.

Most arenas have kind of a 'waiting room' that you respawn in that the opposing group can't enter, and then to exit into the main arena area there's also more than one door you can go through. Between those two it's exceedingly hard to exploit spawn locations at all. Leechers won't be an issue either since they gain nothing if they never exit into the arena proper and participate in the battle.

Apocalypse maps work a bit different though since part of the objective is taking over the 'base' area of the opposing side, which is where they respawn and has no doors blocking entrance... just lots and lots of defenses you have to get past on the way in. ;)
